Better Labels,
Better Choices.
A campaign to put warning labels on unhealthy foods.
South Africa is starving for simple food labels.
Tobaco products have warning labels. Alcoholic drinks have warning labels. Unhealthy foods should, too.
Currently, food labels are confusing, overly technical, and usually hidden away at the back of packaging.
Simple warning labels, placed on the front of packaging, and indicating that products are high in sugar, salt or fat, are proven to be extremely effective, and would help us make better choices about the food we buy.
Those healthier choices would, in turn, reduce diseases and save lives. It would also save money, which individuals and the government currently have to spend on healthcare.
